We Create

Brands

There are a myriad of definitions of the word “brand.” While each of them has merit, around here, we’ve boiled it down to this: A brand is the prevailing thought or feeling that a consumer has about a product, service or company – a thought or feeling that differentiates it from the competition.

At Werremeyer, our mission is to make sure that your brand reflects the DNA of its originator – you – across all target audience touchpoints.

The strands of that DNA – your position, promise and personality – intertwine in the form of your brand, which impacts every aspect of how to engage your audience in the marketplace.

We create all kinds of experiences and materials to establish brands and bring them to life. And, over time, the more synergy we can create as your marketing partner, the more able you will be to deliver a 360° brand experience.

Awareness

The adage, “the more things change, the more they stay the same” could not be more applicable than it is to marketing in the 21st century.

Because even with the advent of 400 TV channels, 500 million Facebook users, 175 million people on Twitter and that ever-expanding universe called “the Internet,” the definition of awareness has not changed one iota.

Awareness is what you get when the right people get the right message at the right time in the right way.

At Werremeyer, our approach ensures your marketing resources are focused in a way to not only increase awareness among the audiences you covet most, but also translate that awareness into action.

Solutions

As one of the oldest agencies in St. Louis, the solutions originally created by Werremeyer could all be described using one word – print. Posters, flyers, handbills and print ads.

Fast forward a century or so, and you’ll discover that our solutions strategically utilize practically every medium and are literally encountered everywhere.

In the physical world. Logos. Collateral design. Environmental design. Wayfinding. Billboards. Out-of-home. Transit. Point-of-purchase. Direct mail.

In the digital world. Website design. Intranet development. Web content. Internet marketing strategy. Search engine optimization. Website advertising. E-Marketing.

In the professional world. Research. Positioning statements. Naming. Messaging and taglines. Traditional media strategy. Digital/social media strategy. Brand standards. Presentation templates.

In the personal world. Radio. TV. Viral. Guerrilla. Smartphone. Social media. Interactive. Events. Public relations.

Results

As inspired, refreshing and cozy as our offices may be, our studio in Webster Groves isn’t one big monument to ourselves; you won’t see awards, accolades and kudos everywhere you look.

That’s because we prefer to see the results of what we do on our clients’ faces. And with many of our clients working with us after five, ten and even fifteen years, we can’t help but think they have liked what they’ve seen, too.

Our five-step process ensures that every project we undertake is revisited to determine whether our client’s expectations have been met. This commitment to measurability and accountability often has played a major role in referrals and continues to be one of the primary ways we develop our client roster.

We Deliver

We Value

Research

We like surprises. At Werremeyer, this translates into an unusual fondness for discovery. In fact, the research and discovery phase is the most crucial stage in Werremeyer’s creative process.

This is where we analyze competitors and identify parities and points of differentiation. We meet with the marketing team and other individuals within the organization to establish goals and expectations, as well as take an inventory of internal perceptions and potential obstacles.

If our clients haven’t already done so, we conduct and review current market research. We then present the detailed findings from this market assessment, recommending ways to incorporate them into media and creative strategies.

Strategy

No matter how broad and deep our branding expertise may be, we fully realize we can never be better than second best when it comes to knowing your business. That’s why collaboration, another Werremeyer differentiator — is at the core of our approach to strategy.

We conduct as many work sessions with the marketing team as necessary to discuss and distill research findings, share perspectives and discover the insights necessary to proceed to the next step.

Once consensus is reached, we present your unique brand architecture: position, identity, promise, vision, personality and core messaging. Along with this very important profile comes the creative brief, which outlines the core ideas that will translate your brand architecture in a compelling way to your target audience(s).

These ideas become the absolute bedrock for tagline and key word development, type treatments and visual approaches.

Concepts

Using the creative brief and brand architecture borne out of the research and collaboration to date, it’s time for our talented team of designers, writers and producers to craft an array of approaches which meet the specific marketing objective(s) of the assignment.

Ironically, while this stage tends to consume the most time within any given project, it also tends to be the hardest one to describe. Still, it’s safe to say that lots of caffeine, chocolate, Googling, scribbling, sketching and head-scratching are involved.

Execution

Upon presentation of the concepts deemed to be most appropriate and unique for your situation, it becomes time to factor in production cost and scheduling, and media cost and availability in the determination of the right marketing mix to achieve your objective(s).

This plan potentially can include a variety of media channels, such as broadcast advertising, printed materials, digital and/or social media, as well as guerrilla and viral marketing.

Measurability

While in the research and strategic stages, benchmarks for success are typically also developed. These benchmarks become the basis for an analysis and critique of the solution that was implemented.

Conducted usually after one year, these findings enable us to make adjustments to our creative and/or media strategy, impacting future executions.

“As a business person looking for a firm to develop a brand and implement a new campaign it’s not that hard to find a great firm that is: Creative, or understands your business and what it stands for, or has great client service, or understands how to take great ideas and follow them through to seamless implementation.

But, to find a firm to do all of those, and that makes the process enjoyable, is special. And Werremeyer exceeded our expectations each step of the way. I can’t imagine a better experience, a better outcome or a better partner!”

We Share

Ideas

At Werremeyer, every project we take on starts with an integrated approach backed by an idea, or several. Whenever something crosses our path that is inspirational, intriguing, helpful, and even fun, we are quick to share that idea. And because we are always learning something new, you’ll find that we don’t keep our ideas secret — in fact, we are eager to share.
